She received the majority of her training from Patsy Swayze, Ricky Odums, and Sandra Jones.
After attending the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, Lauri danced professionally with the Houston Jazz Ballet Company under the direction of Patsy Swayze.
In 1976, Lauri, her sister Dianna Tate and her mother, Sandra Jones opened their first dance studio in S.W. Houston.
Lauri taught team level gymnastics at several top schools in N.W. Houston.
Lauri is also available for personal training for adults and children 11 years and older. She is a Certified Personal Trainer through The National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Lauri is currently studying for her certification in five disciplines with Dance Masters of America.
Lauri lives in Richmond, Texas with her husband John, her son John, and her daughter Anne.
