NOW & THEN - RECITAL 2012

  Dear parents,
I am happy to announce that RECITAL 2012 will be held at the George Ranch High School auditorium on Sunday, June 3 at 2:00 pm.  There will be (13) dances in ACT ONE and (14) dances in ACT TWO with a (25) minute intermission in between Acts. Estimated length of the recital is 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
All dancers should arrive at the auditorium dressed in their ACT ONE costume, ready to perform. A dressing room will be provided for the ACT TWO costume change.
For the safety of the dancers and the audience members, no video camera tripods or flash photography will be allowed inside the auditorium. Hand held video recorders and non-flash cameras may be used with discretion.

The costume companies require at least three months to guarantee shipment of the costumes by the recital date.
I will be unable to order costumes after this deadline. If you would like for your dancer/ tumbler to be a part of this year's recital, please have your costume fee arrive by February 1 (no 10 day grace period on costumes).
Costumes will be handed out in class in late May.
I will be taking a chest, waist, hip, and girth measurement of your dancer/ tumbler in January.
Please be aware that the costumes will not be made to an exact, perfect fit.
If the costume comes with pants, you will need to hem the pants to fit your dancer/ tumbler.
The costume companies do not hem the pants at the factory because of the different heights of each dancer/ tumbler.
If your child happens to fall "in-between" sizes, I will order the next larger size. Better too big than too small!
You may need to alter your dancer/ tumbler's costume.
I try very hard to order the size of the costume that best matches their four measurements but in some cases, a little "tweaking" is required.
  RECITAL FEE
There is a $ 40.00 recital fee ($ 75.00 if you have more than one dancer performing in the recital) to be paid separately from the costume fee.
This fee will be applied toward the rental of the auditorium, technical crew, music, scenery, police security and insurance.
  THE RECITAL FEE IS DUE BY APRIL 1.

Please arrive no later and not before 1:15 pm.
The auditorium doors will be closed until 1:15 pm.
The dressing rooms will open at 1:00 pm.

Recital 2012 will begin at 2:00 pm sharp.

Have your dancer dressed in their ACT ONE costume when you arrive at the auditorium at 1:15 pm.
Make sure that your dancer is wearing a cover up (robe, daddy's big shirt) to cover up the costume.
Report directly to your assigned dressing room.
Look for your dancer's dressing room assignments below.
It is a very good idea to label EVERYTHING that you bring to the recital, especially the costumes and shoes.
Hair may be worn in any style but please do not embellish the hair with anything other than the accessories that come with the costume.
Make-up is important, even on the young girls.
The lights on the stage tend to "wash out" the faces of the performers.
A bright red lipstick works well.
